Miss Rachel
Miss Rachel has studied dance for over 35 years and represents the third generation of a family of professional dancers, dance company choreographers and dance instructors. She began dancing at the age of 3 under the tutelage of her Mom, Miss Kathy and studied under many professional dancers and dance instructors. She was also a member and choreographer with Tanzen, Niagara County Community College's dance company. She always enjoyed working with children and it was her dream to open her own dance studio. Miss Rachel and her two dance studios, Lewiston Dance Center and Grand Island Dance Center, are well known in the area, not only for the high quality of dance instruction, but more importantly, for the personal interest and support provided to their young students of dance. "It is so rewarding watching young people grow in skill and confidence and enjoy the pleasure of self expression."



Miss Kathy
Miss Kathy has studied ballet and modern dance at Juilliard in New York City and was the assistant manager for the largest dance school in the City. While living in NYC, Miss Kathy studied with Jose Limon, Arthur Mitchell, Alvin Ailey, Donald McQuayle, the June Taylor Dancers and a host of others. She returned to her hometown in 1967 and opened Miss Kathy's School of Dance in Niagara Falls, NY. "Dance and dance instruction has been a family tradition and now we're teaching the children and grandchildren of students I taught when I first began". Miss Kathy is a strong believer in having dance become a part of your life forever!


Miss Kayla
Miss Kayla has been dancing with Lewiston Dance since 1994. She has studied tap, jazz, ballet and hip hop and was also one of our scholarship winners. She began demonstrating at Lewiston Dance when she was 11 years old and has been a teacher at Grand Island Dance since it opened in 2004, teaching tap, jazz, ballet and hip hop. Kayla currently manages the Grand Island Studio. She has danced with NCCC's dance troupe, Tanzen and has also performed at Niagara University at half-time for their basketball games, the NF Fireman's Telethon and also at Fantasy Island's Dance Showcase.She has choreographed cheer dance routines for competitions, hip hop dances, and many dance solos, and duets at both studios. Kayla has also taught hip hop classes at Lewiston Porter High School for adults and teens for their Community Education Department. Along with pursuing a career in teaching dance, Kayla is also a certified Zumba, Zumba Gold, and Zumbatomic instructor. In 2010 she graduated from Daemen College with a BA in Mathematics.


Miss Laura
Miss Laura began dance at the age of five. She studied tap, jazz, ballet, modern, pointe and hip hop and has won many dance competitions. Laura was a member of Tanzen, the NCCC dance company, where she choreographed, danced and sang. She studied modern dance at the University of Buffalo and has been teaching at Lewiston Dance since 2001. Miss Laura is very excited to pass on what she has learned to all of our students!


Miss Heather
Miss Heather has been dancing for many years and has studied tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical and pointe. She competed at the NYS Dance Olympics in Rochester. Miss Heather also coached the Lewiston Porter Dance team for three years. She took some time off to raise her family and is back teaching with us here at Lewiston Dance. Heather was very excited to attend the Dance Teacher Summit held in New York City and is anxious to "pass along everything she learned to all her students."


Miss Nicole
Nicole has been dancing since the age of 3. She joined Grand island/Lewiston Dance in 2004 and began assisting that year. She has participated in events with the studio such as the Fireman's Telethon and the NYC Dance Teacher Summit. Nicole was a featured dancer in two school musicals, South Pacific and Guys and Dolls. She also has attended dance workshops at the Broadway Dance Center and with the Rockettes in NYC.


Miss Kirsten
Miss Kirsten likes to joke and say she was dancing since the moment she was born. She started attending dance classes at the age of three. She grew up on Long Island and studied many forms of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, acro, pointe, and lyrical. She was a part of her high school kickline team which competed and won both Long Island and National titles. She was captain of this team since the end of her sophomore year. Miss Kirsten came to the WNY area to attend D’Youville College where she received both her bachelor’s degree and Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She currently works as a Pediatric School Based Physical Therapist and loves working with kids! Miss Kirsten spent 6 years dancing with the Buffalo Bandettes, the dance team for the professional lacrosse team the Buffalo Bandits, and was captain for 4 of those years. While dancing with the Bandettes she became close friends with two ladies who grew up attending Lewiston Dance. She then was given the opportunity to become a part of the Lewiston and Grand Island Dance families in 2014. Working for these studios has been a complete blessing in Miss Kirsten’s life and she is excited to share her passion with all of the students! She has been the director of the Lewiston Dance Team since 2014 and helps organize community performances, fundraisers, and local competitions. She strives to teach the students dedication, commitment, to have fun, and to love what they do! She looks forward to spending many years a part of this special dance family and having her heart touched by all of the students we work with at the studios!


Miss Lauren
Miss Lauren has been dancing since 1997. She has studied many types of dance including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and modern. Miss Lauren started taking classes at Lewiston Dance in 1998. She received the Abbondanza scholarship award in 2008 and in 2011 and was also awarded dancer of the year in 2012. She began demonstrating at the age of 12 and continued to assist classes until 2012. She was also a member of the competition team at Lewiston Dance and danced at many community events. Miss Lauren went to Niagara University where she got her bachelors of science in biochemistry. During her 4 years of college she was a member of the Niagara University Danceline where she was treasurer in 2014 and captain in 2015. During her senior year of college she started teaching again at Lewiston Dance. Lauren is glad to be back at Lewiston Dance and sharing her love of dance with the students.


Miss Samantha
Sam started dancing at 2 years old at a local dance studio. She danced there competitively until she was 19 studying in tap, jazz, ballet, acro, modern, hip-hop, contemporary and lyrical. She began her teaching career as a class assistant at just 11 years old. As a competitive dancer she was able to dance not only at a local and regional level, but also nationally taking classes from many industry professionals in places like NYC, Myrtle Beach and Walt Disney World. Sam went on to receive her Associates Degree in Social Sciences and is currently working on her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a Minor in Dance.

Miss Sam joined the Grand Island & Lewiston Dance Centers in 2014 teaching acro, contemporary and jazz classes, she has since added ballet, lyrical and tap. This year she is excited to take over the Senior Competitive Dance Team in the GI location. Miss Sam is looking forward to many more seasons with her students at GI & Lewiston Dance Centers!


Miss Katie
Katie has been teaching since 2011years in a variety of styles including contemporary, lyrical, acrobatics, and tap dance. She has been dancing since the age of 4 and has trained with Lorraine Goddard Dance Studio and Matthew Clark Academy. She went on as a dance major at Slippery Rock University and University at Buffalo and is currently a member of ModDance Company, a professional performance company. Katie is thrilled to be teaching her 3rd season at Lewiston Dance Studio and wants to thank Miss Rach for the opportunity each year to grow as a teacher do what she loves.


Miss Corina
Miss Corina grew up in Syracuse, NY where she danced competitively for many years. She then went on to receive a BFA in Dance from The College at Brockport in 2014. Miss Corina has been lucky enough to study with great dancers such as Jon Lehrer, Bill Evans, members of the Taylor 2 Dance Company and more. Throughout her time at Brockport, and after graduation she has had the opportunity to participate in multiple professional performances, including Inside/Out at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Rochester Fringe Festival, and The American College Dance Festival. Post college, Miss Corina went on to teach Modern, Jazz, Ballet, and Contemporary in Syracuse, NY at CMC Dance Company before spending a year in New York City, furthering her dance education, and dancing with various modern dance companies. She is grateful to be able to pass on her knowledge and love of dance to her students at Lewiston & Grand Island Dance Centers.


Miss Kimberly
Kimberly Zandi, I.S.T.D. is a graduate of The Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart, class of 89 and holds a B.A. in Women and Gender Studies. Miss Zandi also served in the United States Army Medical Corps in South Carolina, Texas and Germany. Ms. Zandi began her early Cecchetti Method training with Tina Filipelli Certo in Lewiston, NY. She continued her training under Beverly Feder (Niagara Falls, NY), Jacqueline Anderson (CT), Moira Wright Murphy (CT) and Jean Spear (Watertown NY). Miss Zandi earned her Cecchetti Certification from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, London England. Miss Zandi is a former member of The Greater Niagara Ballet Company.

Miss Zandi is currently pursuing her Cecchetti Professional level Associate Exam and also pursuing her MFA in Dance at The University of Buffalo. Bringing extensive experience and knowledge in classical ballet and repertoire, Miss Zandi is very happy to be a part of the team at Lewiston and Grand Island Dance Centers!


Miss Alex
Miss Alex has been dancing at Lewiston Dance since 2000. She has studied all forms of dance including ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and lyrical. Miss Alex received the Abbondanza Scholarship in 2010 and the lyrical scholarship in 2013. She was awarded Dancer of the Year in 2014. Alex began demonstrating at Lewiston Dance when she was 12 years old. She was a member of the Dance Team and has performed at many competitions and events over the years. At Lewiston Porter, Miss Alex was a Varsity cheerleader for two years. She is now a full-time student at Niagara University and is working towards her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Alex is happy to share her love of dance with her students!


Miss Courtney
Miss Courtney Corbetta began her dance career at Lewiston Dance in 2005. She studied jazz, modern, hip-hop and performed in various community events. Not far from home, she majored in Communications with a double minor in Theatre and Dance at Niagara University. Her freshman year, the Niagara Index named her one of the “20 Most Intriguing Students on Campus.” Throughout her time on the ridge, she became a member of the Buffalo Jills Cheerleading Squad. After graduating summa cum laude from Niagara in 2015, Miss Courtney resided in Pomona, N.Y. There she served as the dug-out reporter and in-game host for the Rockland Boulders Baseball Organization of the Can-Am League. Aside from seeing her at the studio, you can now watch Miss Courtney weekdays at 10 a.m. on Channel 7. She is a part-time feature reporter for WKBW’s AM Buffalo.


Miss Kaitlyn
Miss Kaitlyn has been with Grand Island dance since 2009 when she started with just a jazz class. Since then she has studied all forms of dance including ballet, pointe, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, modern and musical theatre. She also was part of the Grand Island Dance team for the first two years it was formed. Miss Kaitlyn has been demonstrating at GI Dance since 2011. and became an Assistant Teacher in 2013. She has assisted with many classes including, toddler classes, ballet, tap, acro, musical theatre, jazz, and hip hop. She has furthered her dance education by attending the Dance Teacher Conference taking classes from many of the Industries leaders.


Miss Elaina
Miss Elaina has been dancing at Grand Island Dance Center since it opened in 2004. She has served as a demonstrator, teaching assistant and dance instructor at the studio. Miss Elaina has also studied dance at Buffalo State College. Miss Elaina was a member of the studio's first dance team and has held the position of Team Captain. She is a former Abbondanza Scholarship recipient. She has performed at many community events and competitions.
